After the night in the Kakamega Forest I took a matatu to Kisumu, a town at Lake Victoria. I recommend no one to travel longer distances by matatu, because normally there is space for 15 people – but in mine there was 20 people and one hen.
In Kisumu I used for the very first time couchsurfing.com and ended up in a very nice family, which led me through the town.
Unfortunately, I had only two days in Kisumu, after that I travelled to Mombasa – but this time with a coach bus.
In Mombasa I stayed in a very nice backpacker hostel for two days, before I had to go back to Nairobi.
I was not only at the beach, but also in the historic city of Mombasa and have learned a lot about the history of Kenya.
